I believe Craig Saunders is just that type of person. Craig Saunders is one of the Republican candidates running for State representative in the 84th district. The district is comprised of all rural areas of Greene and Clark County and all of Madison County. Craig was born and raised in Greene County. He now lives with his wife Betsy along with their four children in a home outside of Clifton. He has a wide range of experiences and knows the issues that we face in our district and is willing and ready to fight for us. Craig has lived on a farm for the most part of his life and knows first hand the concerns of the farming community. He has gained a tremendous amount of experience in the legislative world as an attorney, city of Xenia assistant prosecutor, and chairperson of the Greene County Republican Central Committee. He has also been very active as a Director/Advisor of many agricultural and livestock oriented organizations. He is a family man that is not afraid to get dirty and fight for the issues at hand. In Columbus, he will fight for lower taxes; he will promote business growth, enhancing our educational system, and protecting our military bases and elderly citizens. I have had the opportunity get to know Craig and his family personally over the last couple of years through our children being involved with common activities. In my encounters with Craig he has demonstrated the utmost integrity and proven to be a hard working and generous individual. I don’t believe we could find a better person then Craig Saunders to represent us, because of his well-roundedness and ability to relate to so many different people. He is an upstanding man, as a father and businessman. He is a hard worker who is still very involved in his four children’s lives. He is a pillar in our community who always shows generosity when dealing with all areas of our school as well as community programs. He and his wife volunteer as 4-H advisors for my daughter’s club. Last year they took on the responsibility of teaching our kids parliamentary procedure. I was blessed to see the joy in their eyes when the members understood the way a meeting is run and could do it for themselves. They were happy for the kids and their accomplishments. For years, they have supported the Junior Livestock Sales at the fair, even when they were first married and paying for law school. This is the man we need to go to Columbus and fight for us! We need a man who will work unselfishly for our children! I have had the opportunity to know Craig since we were young kids. We grew up together as kids in Xenia, Ohio. He was always a hard worker and a very honest person who insisted on always doing the right thing. I have always looked up to Craig because he came from a farm and worked hard to become an attorney and prosecutor. He has shown great determination in his life because he had to pay for his own school. He worked his way through law school while raising a family here in Greene County. He is not afraid to stand up for what is right, even though it may not be the easiest decision. He will protect our interests in Greene, Clark, and Madison counties because he wants his children, and ours, to have jobs here when they grow up and are ready to start their adult lives. I have known Craig for many years. Craig and his wife, as well as their four children, Tyler, Madison, James, and Reagan, are very active in the Cedarville community, as well as Cedarville Schools. They positively impact our community with their involvement. Mr. Saunders and his family have freely given their time and monetary resources for the good of this community. Among other things, they have sponsored a change drive for the Hurricane Katrina victims, as well as having a canned food drive at their children’s birthday parties for the local food pantry instead of gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Saunders are problem solvers. They continually look for ways to make things better. They do not walk away from things when they get difficult. Mr. Saunders is not afraid to do the right thing, even when it is not a popular decision. Mr. Saunders stands by his decisions and does not waiver. This is not always the easy road to take, but he does it. The Saunders are also very active in the county. They are always trying to help the youth of Greene County. They have participated in the sales at the Greene County Fair since they were married. They are also involved as 4-H advisors for their son’s 4-H club. They are concerned about the future of the district, which is the children. Additionally, Mr. Saunders and his wife are leaders in their church, where he is a trustee and she is a deacon. Mr. Saunders is truly a good person with a good heart. As his mother and father-in-law, I know that he has original plans and ideas that can help to make our lives better. He is running for the Ohio House of Representatives in the 84th district. I am not typically a “political” person , but my husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Craig and his family through Clark County Farm Bureau. Craig has a true understanding of the issues that face Ohio farmers today. He has grown up on a farm and still continues to volunteer in agricultural programs, as well raise a small herd of cattle on their land outside of Clifton, Ohio. He also has laid out his economic plan to us. It is a plan of common sense strategies to attract business as well as high paying jobs for our district. Craig wants to go to Columbus to protect us and work for us. He is a man of upstanding character, who is always willing to answer any questions that we may have about anything. I have strong convictions when it comes to the race for State Representative for the 84th district. I know whole heartedly that Craig Saunders will be an excellent Representative for us. I know Craig personally and have worked with him in several different capacities. I attend church at the Cedarville United Presbyterian Church where Craig serves as a trustee. He is well respected by the entire congregation. I also volunteer for the Greene County Cattlemen's Association of which Craig is a director. I have been his Realtor in the past, working with him on three separate transactions. He is my attorney. He is also my friend. He is a very talented person who relates well with all kinds of people. He is easy to talk to and listens with an open mind. He has character that can't be broken. He will serve this district well.
